The Nok culture was a great ancient African
culture. It was
located in Western Africa, were today is Nigeria. The culture started
to
develop around 500BC and mysteriously this great ancient African
culture
started to disappeare around 200AD. During this time the Nok culture
invented
terracotta and learned to smelt and forge iron. The people of the Nok
civilization were the first Africans that knew how to smelt and work
with iron
and they were also the first sub-Saharan producers of life-sized
Terracotta.
